In June 2017, the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails group received a grant from the City of Seattle, Small Sparks Fund, to undertake community outreach to promote the use of the West Duwamish Greenbelt trails. We have now completed work on that grant. The result? This website, a logo, stickers, large posters showing trails in the greenbelt, an enhanced Facebook page, and a new brochure describing the greenbelt with maps of the trails. Throughout the process we have met with other community groups to let them know what we are doing.
This website features news of guided hikes, trail work, community meetings, the history of the greenbelt, and information about the West Duwamish Greenbelt trails group.
The brochures are available many places–at South Seattle College, Pathfinder School, the STEM program at Louisa Boren School, Delridge Community Center, Nature Consortium offices at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, and the Log House Museum of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society.
Pick up a brochure, hike the trails, and spread the word.
